Best retire now!
The removal of the statutory retirement procedures from 1 October 2011 will mean that if an employer wishes to dismiss or retire an employee over 65 years old, then they will have to follow the fair procedure, relying on one of the reasons such as redundancy, conduct, capability, illegality or some other substantial reason.
